Brent Elementary School

Brent Elementary School is the first in the Nation to achieve SITES certification! SLD is proud to have partnered with the PTA, DCPS, DDOE, and DDOT to design and implement major improvements for this great school. SLD finalized conceptual designs, created permit and construction drawings and served as project manager for the redevelopment of Brent Elementary Schoolyard into a model learning environment. Significant improvements to the school grounds between 2006 and 2012 have created new opportunities for the children, teachers and parents at Brent Elementary School. Located on Capitol Hill - at 301 North Carolina Ave. SE in Washington, DC 20003 – over twenty thousand square feet of new landscaping, outdoor classrooms, walkways, seating areas, play equipment, safety surfacing and raingardens were installed.
